"Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit."

Walking in the Beautiful Algarve

Each year, between September and May, our walk co-ordinator Jan Bradford organizes, and often leads, walks that explore the beautiful region of the Algarve. These walks are held once a month and are announced during morning worship service. Jan also provides flyers for each walk that give information on the venue, approximate walk time and degree of difficulty. There are walks in the countryside which is beautiful and not very well known to many visitors, hikes on top of coastal cliffs and on the beach, or pleasant, easy walks through nature reserves - something for everyone's taste and ability. Detailed information will be made available in good time before each walk.

If you would like to lead a walk at any time, please contact Jan Bradford on 00351 918700524

Next Walk - Saturday 22nd June
São Lourenço Trail, Quinta do Lago

Saturday 22nd June 2019: 9.00

We will be walking the flat sandy trail from the sports lake of Quinta do Lago along the nature reserve, observing the dunes system and salt marsh wetlands, where we have the chance to see many water birds at the freshwater lakes.

This is an easy circular trail and will take approx 2 - 2½ hours, with plenty of stops along the way. On the way back we will walk along the golf course, pass a Roman ruin and stop at the bird observation hide.

We are starting earlier than usual to avoid the heat; 9am at the lower church car park or meet at 9.30 at the Quinta do Lago sports lake car park. After entering the QdL resort, at roundabout 2 take the first exit into Avenida Ayrton Senna da Silva and continue down this road until you reach the car park at the lake.

As always, pleas wear suitable walking shoes, come equiped for the sun and bring water, a light snack, a smile and a friend!

For more information phone the co-walk leader Jan Bradford, 00351 918700524.
